In Invisible Connections, Mariko Kumon weaves forms that feel suspended in a breath. Her materials—thread, wire, textile—are not merely arranged: they are in relationship. Each work holds a gentle tension, a quiet balance that never breaks, but hums.
The installations inhabit space with softness. They are felt more than seen. Something is suggested—floating between the intimate and the collective, between the smallest gesture and the silence around it. There is no loudness here. Only pulse.
Kumon works with the ephemeral—with what shifts in light, air, time. What holds her pieces together is not always visible, but it’s there: holding them, holding us.
This exhibition is an invitation to look closely. To pause with what is barely there. Because sometimes, connection doesn’t require touch.
