Chen I-Chun, born in Taipei, Taiwan, discovered her passion for art after exploring various fields. She began studying painting and calligraphy in childhood, and later pursued oil painting in high school, engaging in creation and research. These experiences laid the foundation for her artistic practice, combining her love for art with a deeper understanding of culture and history.
She aims to express the serenity of animals by using soft colors and detailed strokes to capture their peaceful leisure. The harmonious blend of colors and their coordination with nature helps create a tranquil atmosphere. The animals' expressions are often peaceful or amusing, inviting viewers to feel their purity and innocence. While referencing the real colors of animal fur, the artist is not bound by reality, considering how the colors evoke emotional responses on the canvas.
Some backgrounds are composed of color blocks to transport the animals into a dreamlike world, distant from reality. The dyeing effect in the background is designed to resemble a flowing stream of light, symbolizing gentle calmness through the play of light and shadow. The artist also uses soft colors in the background, placing the animals in a pink, peaceful world filled with beauty and tranquility.
