Carlos Mercado

Carlos Mercado, born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 1958, is a multifaceted artist whose work spans mixed media and three-dimensional installations. 

Drawing from nostalgia and Caribbean iconography, Mercado reinterprets the imagery of the past through a vibrant, contemporary lens, creating pieces that merge art history with cultural references. His artistic style is characterized by bold colors, intricate collages, and diverse materials, reflecting influences from modern masters like Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, and Takashi Murakami.
